Behavioral Health Goes Over the Edge for a Cause

Behavioral health plays an essential role in overall health and well-being, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, manage stress, and access support when they need it most. At Family Medical Center, behavioral health services are integrated into care both in our health centers and through our school-based programs, making counseling and support more accessible for adults, children, adolescents, and families across the communities we serve. By meeting patients where they are—whether in a medical office or at school—FMC works to reduce barriers and connect people with compassionate, timely behavioral health care.

That commitment to supporting others was on full display September 5, when FMC employees Ashley King, Office-Based Behavioral Health Supervisor, and Alexa Anderson, School-Based Behavioral Health Supervisor, took part in The Victory Center’s annual Over the Edge fundraiser in downtown Toledo. Ashley joined Alexa’s husband, Jason Anderson, in rappelling 16 stories down the side of the Levis Square Park building to raise funds for The Victory Center, which provides free support and resources to cancer patients, survivors, and their families. Together, Ashley and the Anderson family raised more than $3,000 for the organization. Their participation reflects the same spirit of compassion, connection, and community support that guides FMC’s behavioral health work every day.
