Meet Dr. Avery
Dr. Avery recently joined Family Medical Center of Michigan to assist with opening optometry services. Prior to FMC, Dr. Avery traveled to remote Alaskan communities to provide eye care. Outside of work, Dr. Avery enjoys spending time with her husband and dog Dobby. She loves traveling, spending time outdoors, and baking. After traveling the country for a year with her family, Dr. Avery is happy to be in Michigan near family. She is excited to bring eye care services to Family Medical Center of Michigan!
Meet Melinda Ahleman
Melinda joined Family Medical Center Optometry in December in the role of optometric assistant. She is working with Dr. Avery to pretest patients, order glasses, and pull insurance authorizations. Prior to FMC, Melinda has been in the Optical field for over 35 years. She started working for an Ophthalmologist in Sandusky, Ohio while in high school and then moved to Michigan and continued in the Optometric field. She and her husband enjoy going to Cedar Point, camping, auto racing and Adrian High School Basketball games. She also enjoys spending time with her Dad and nephews and their families.
Meet Cali Dawn Cox
Cali has completed a certificate course in Medical Billing/Coding and Office Administration, adding to her expertise in the field.
Outside of work, Cali enjoys traveling with her family, especially to the ocean and theme parks. A fun fact about her—despite her young age, she is a proud grandmother to one amazing little boy!
