Family Medical Center of Michigan was proud to be part of Project Connect on Wednesday, October 28, at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds. Held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., this annual community event brought together more than 45 organizations to connect individuals and families with valuable resources, essential supplies, and support services.
More than 300 people attended the event, where community members could access a variety of resources in a welcoming and engaging environment. Participants received lunch, meal kits provided by Southeastern Food Bank, and essential cold-weather items, including coats, blankets, hats, and gloves.
A popular highlight returned this year with free haircuts provided by My Cousin Vinny, who generously gave 47 haircuts to event participants. Attendees also enjoyed refreshments, music from a DJ, prize giveaways, and other activities that helped create a fun, welcoming atmosphere while connecting individuals with the services they need.
Project Connect serves as an important kickoff to Homeless Awareness Month, highlighting the power of community partnerships and the importance of making essential resources accessible to everyone. By bringing so many organizations together in one location, the event helps reduce barriers, strengthen connections, and reminds individuals and families that support is available throughout the community.
Thank you to all the participating organizations, volunteers, and community partners who helped make this year’s Project Connect a success. Their generosity and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference for individuals and families throughout Lenawee County.
