Celebrating Community, Partnerships & Access to Care
Family Medical Center of Michigan celebrated National Health Center Week, August 3–8, 2026, with events at each of our health center locations. This year’s theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” was a wonderful reminder of the importance of bringing healthcare, resources, and community partners directly to the people we serve.
A special part of this year’s celebration was our food distributions, made possible through our partnerships with the Monroe County Opportunity Program (MCOP) and the Meal Assistance Program of Lenawee County (MAP).
MCOP provided food for our NHCW events in Temperance, Monroe, and Carleton, serving more than 295 families over three days. We are incredibly grateful to MCOP not only for helping make NHCW possible, but also for their ongoing weekly food distributions at our Temperance and Monroe locations.
At our Adrian location, MAP distributed food to 77 households, representing 232 individuals. Those served included 46 children and teens ages 0–17, 112 adults ages 18–59, and 74 adults age 60 and older. MAP also identified 15 households who were not currently connected with Family Medical Center, creating opportunities to introduce them to our healthcare services and other available resources.
Thank You to Our Community Partners
National Health Center Week would not be possible without the community organizations that join us in connecting patients and families with valuable resources. We extend our sincere appreciation to all of the partners who participated throughout the week:
- Cornerstone Caregiving of Monroe
- Avon Healthcare Services
- Lenawee County Health Department
- Monroe Community Mental Health Authority
- Hospice of Lenawee
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs – VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System
- Consumers Energy
- Monroe County Opportunity Program (MCOP)
- Meal Assistance Program of Lenawee County (MAP)
These partnerships demonstrate the importance of addressing food access, healthcare access, and other community needs together. When organizations work side by side, we can connect individuals and families with the resources, education, and care they need to support their overall well-being.
Family Medical Center of Michigan extends a heartfelt thank you to all of our community partners, staff, patients, families, and everyone who participated in National Health Center Week 2026. Your continued support helps us build healthier communities and ensures that care and resources are available where they are needed most.
Together, we are Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most.
