                                                                 What is the Marketplace?
The Marketplace is part of the Affordable Care Act. It is a tool that helps you find coverage that fits your lifestyle, needs and budget. By filling out an application you can see what plans and deductions you might qualify for. Insurance through the marketplace is based on your income and household size.

What Is the Affordable Care Act (ACA)?
The Affordable Care Act is often referred to as “Obama Care”. The ACA became a law on March 23, 2010. The new healthcare law required Americas to have health insurance starting in 2014.

How will the ACA help me?
The ACA was designed to help Americans get quality health care while still being affordable. The new health care law requires insurance companies to provide equal and fair coverage. Insurance companies cannot charge more or deny coverage for a pre-existing condition. The new heath care law also allows children under the age of 26 to stay on their parents insurance.

How can the Family Medical Center help me?

The Family Medical center has trained staff that can guide you through the application process.  Applicants are able to set up appointments with our Certified Application Counselors during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

Our Certified Application Counselors (CAC's) are available at all FMC locations.
